For most passengers, the airport security experience is expected to remain largely unchanged. Travelers will still need to present valid identification, comply with TSA carry-on baggage rules, follow liquid restrictions and complete the same screening process before boarding a flight. The primary difference is that passenger screening would be carried out by TSA-certified private contractors rather than federal Transportation Security Officers. TSA will continue to supervise security operations, conduct audits and ensure that every participating airport meets the same national aviation security standards. This means travelers should not expect different screening requirements simply because an airport joins the Gold+ program.
