The cancellation of the Las Vegas route does not signal Southwest's departure from Costa Rica. The airline has served the country since 2015 and continues operating flights to San José (SJO) and Liberia (LIR) from multiple U.S. gateways, including Baltimore/Washington, Houston Hobby, Denver, Orlando, and Nashville. Costa Rica remains one of Southwest's key international leisure markets, serving travelers heading to the country's beaches, rainforests, national parks, and adventure destinations. According to Southwest's current schedules, customers can still book flights to Costa Rica through its existing network despite the removal of the planned Las Vegas service.
