EVA Air to Launch Taipei–Delhi Route, Adding New India Connections to the U.S. and Canada

EVA Air is preparing to expand travel options between India and North America with a new nonstop route connecting Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport (TPE) and Indira Gandhi International Airport (DEL) in Delhi. The airline will begin operating the service on December 1, 2026, creating another potential connection between India and EVA Air’s extensive North American network through Taipei.

The new Taipei–Delhi route will operate five times a week using an Airbus A330-300. EVA Air has already opened bookings for the service and says the new route will make it the only Taiwan-based airline currently offering nonstop passenger flights to India.

For U.S. and Canadian travelers, the importance of the new route goes beyond the Taipei–Delhi nonstop segment itself. Passengers traveling between North America and India will have another potential routing through EVA Air’s Taipei hub, subject to the availability and timing of connecting flights.​​​​​​​

EVA Air operates nonstop flights from Taipei to a broad North American network. EVA Air describes Washington, D.C. as its 10th North American gateway following the route’s launch in June 2026.

That network gives travelers another potential way to structure an India–North America itinerary:

U.S. or Canada → Taipei → Delhi

or in the opposite direction:

Delhi → Taipei → U.S. or Canada

The new route therefore does not create a new nonstop India–U.S. or India–Canada flight. Instead, it strengthens one-stop connectivity through Taipei, which is an important distinction for travelers comparing flight options.​​​​​​​

The new route is not limited to passengers whose final destination is Delhi.

EVA Air says its cooperation with Air India, a Star Alliance partner, can allow passengers to connect onward from Delhi to other major Indian cities.

The Taipei–Delhi launch comes as EVA Air continues to expand its presence in North America.

The airline launched nonstop service between Taipei and Washington, D.C., on June 26, 2026, adding its 10th North American gateway. The route operates four times a week, and EVA Air said the expansion brought its total North American schedule to 98 weekly flights.

EVA Air’s North American network now spans the United States and Canada, including Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle, New York, Houston, Chicago, Dallas-Fort Worth, Washington, D.C., Vancouver and Toronto.

That existing network is what makes the new Delhi route particularly relevant to North American travelers. Instead of looking at the Taipei–Delhi flight as an isolated new international route, travelers can consider it as another segment within EVA Air’s wider Asia–North America network.​​​​​​​

The December launch gives EVA Air a new way to connect South Asia with its established Taipei network.

The airline already uses Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport as its primary hub for connecting passengers across Asia and to North America. With Delhi joining the network, travelers from India will have another option for reaching EVA Air's North American destinations, while North American travelers gain another possible routing to India.

The route also restores nonstop passenger connectivity between Taiwan and India after the market went without such service for several years. Aviation Week reported that EVA Air's five-weekly operation will provide more frequency than the previous nonstop service between the two markets.​​​​​​​

EVA Air's new Taipei–Delhi route will not create a new nonstop flight between the United States and India, but it will give travelers another one-stop option through Taipei beginning December 1, 2026.
