Travelers should not confuse Frontier's new product with the standard U.S. airline 24-hour cancellation rule.
Under the existing rule, qualifying passengers can cancel a newly purchased ticket within 24 hours of booking when the flight is booked at least seven days before departure, subject to the applicable requirements.
Frontier's new Cancel for Any Reason product works differently. Instead of giving travelers 24 hours after booking to cancel, it can allow an eligible customer who purchased the option to cancel up to 24 hours before the flight departs.
That gives travelers a much longer period in which they can change their plans.
